Beaudesert to Beechmont
We had stayed down in Beaudesert the night before having done a run from Woodenbong to Legume on Saturday afternoon (great road for discussion over a beer sometime). Awaking on Sunday morning the view to the north was grey confirmed by the rain radar as a bit ordinary towards Brisbane. Seven bikes headed south where the weather looked far more promising. As we approached the boarder through the horrible rough Mount Lindsey Hwy on the QLD side of the order it was all blue skies. Crossing the border the downhill twisties on the NSW side offer a much better surface on a better laid out road. We pulled up and regrouped at the Summerland Way turnoff just before Woodenbong. All smiles from the group with plenty of talk about how rough the QLD side of the range is. Amazing this is called a highway. We met surprisingly little traffic on the long flowing road down to Kyogle. Only a low loader with a big yellow rumbling thing on the back. Once around it a great run followed. Fuelled up at Kyogle we turned east across the twisty roads towards Murwillumbah stopping at the Mount Warning Hotel in Uki for lunch. This is where Sidi and some of his mates met us with another five bikes. They continued with us through Murwillumbah heading north via Chillingham towards Numinbah Valley and ultimately around the western side of the Hinze-dam to Advancetown. The group then split up, some heading home and about five of us heading up the range towards Beechmont arriving at the Flying Bean Café (great chocolate lava cake). This isa good loop that took a little longer than expected but very enjoyable. Thanks to all that came along
