"Twisties and an Italian Lunch"

Cairns Ride Synopsis
Sunday, February 16th kicked off with a bang under the banner "Twisties and an Italian Lunch". 18 magnificent machines and 20 riders joined in on the fun.Our adventure roared to life at Cairns Ducati where an eclectic mix of Streetfighters and Multistradas joined, a Diavel, Scrambler, Monster, the nimble 959 and the rugged Desert X. The ride led us into the famed Gillies Range – a veritable playground of 263 corners that boast approximately 22 hairpins and a cumulative elevation gain of roughly 800 meters. In total a stretch of about 19 kilometers of adrenaline-pumping action. After conquering the climb, we made a well-timed fuel stop at Malanda (for both our bikes and our own weary selves) before setting course for Rumours Cafe in Milla Milla. En route, the Milla Milla lookout treated us to panoramic vistas that were as breathtaking as the throttle-induced grins on our faces. The excitement didn't stop there. We then cruised down the Palmeston Range – a smooth yet spirited descent – and rolled into Babinda where lunch awaited at the ever-inviting Amore Restaurant at Babinda Taverna. Between hearty Italian bites and cheeky banter, even the most rev-hungry of our bikes seemed to purr in satisfaction. With our bellies full and our spirits high, the band of remaining riders made the final, picturesque ride back to Cairns, leaving behind a trail of laughter, exhaust fumes, and tales that will be retold with a knowing smile for many rides to come. What a day of twists, turns, and a little taste of Italy on two wheels!
